I am continuing my longstanding collaboration with the CCN – Ballet de Lorraine in Nancy (F) with another week of COMPANY CLASSES (April 09th – 12th) and the workshop ON DANSE (April 11th). The two hour workshop will be open to all levels and introduce the participants to my personal approach to both teaching and creating. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The workshop will focus on both contemporary technique as well as contemporary ways of choreography. Some of the basic principles we’ll explore are: finding, strengthening and shifting the center, being on and off balance, moving softly in and out of the ground, and taking risks. We’ll try to understand the underlying logic of different movement phrases and work with choreographic games concentrating on co-dependence and interrelation. We’ll try to challenge ourselves but at the same time focus on the playful aspects of dance and dance making.
