Crack Magazine just named his critically acclaimed self-titled album ARCA their Album of the Year 2017. It’s the perfect occasion to feature one of my biggest inspirations of this year: the musical and visual world of Arca.

In addition to collaborating with Björk on her recent album UTOPIA, he released his gorgeous solo album ARCA in April, he recorded three intriguing music videos with his longtime collaborator Jesse Kanda (Anoche, Reverie and Desafío), and he performed a series of astonishing live shows around the world.

Arca has a unique artistic voice and a powerful aesthetic. His performance touches on the delicate balance between pleasure and pain, and turns vulnerability into strength.

I had the big pleasure to perform to Arca’s track Piel for Patrick Mason’s show BODYDISMORPHIA at Halle am Berghain during Berlin Alternative Fashion Week 2017. It was one of my personal highlights this year and probably not the last time that Arca’s artistry will influence and inspire my work.
