A decidedly unconventional yet highly promising debut from Jan Pusch and his ensemble, met with enthusiastic applause from the audience. Much like with a new play, one is tempted not to reveal the ending, where arms and legs, feet and hands pound the floor. One thing is certain—these ten dancers have plenty to offer.
With remarkable energy, the ensemble brings to life the music composed specifically by Beat Halberschmidt—a blend of subtle, barely audible sounds and infectious, rhythmic electro-pop that drives Pusch's athletic yet expressive movement language. The dance captivates not only through its pace and variety in dynamic group scenes, but the choreographer also crafts compelling and evocative solos and duets.
Outstanding is the striking, kicking, and falling duet in which a woman and a man repeatedly use "I'm sorry" as a mere phrase—only for even harsher attacks to follow. [...] The wild turmoil culminates in a lift and a piercing "I'm sorry" before the blackout—prompting spontaneous applause from the packed house. This is where Pusch's talent truly shines.
A highlight of the performance is the duet of two lovers—a pas de deux of clumsiness, where everything seems to go wrong: heads bump together, arms reach too late or in the wrong direction, legs get tangled. Yet, the two remain unfazed, fully immersed in their dance. [...] The Bremen audience clearly enjoyed the evening, rewarding it with prolonged applause.
