[The dancers] impress with the intensity of their interpretation, the extreme attentiveness to one another, and the strength of their connection to their partner. All these elements were already superbly at work in the last of the five parts of DUOS—the only one I had the chance to see—a piece also created during this festival, unfolding over five days in the streets of Montpellier.
Radiant Duo [...] Dancers Thomas Bradley and Peter Juhasz command a strong presence. Dressed only in simple underwear, nearly nude, their skin is covered in vibrant paint. They embody grace and lightness throughout their roaming performance, filled with moments of tension, fluid undulations, and suspended stillness.
Since his early days as a choreographer, Emanuel Gat has been rather sparing with duets. But when he creates one, it is truly breathtaking. [...] For this edition, over five days, a duet will take place in different locations throughout the city. While each can, of course, be viewed independently, together they form a kind of fragmented choreography. [...] A unique opportunity.
Each day, two dancers take on the exhilarating challenge of performing outdoors for an audience that is both intentionally present and casually passing by. [...] With Duos at Peyrou, the experience works beautifully. The location is utterly spectacular, offering a playground of hide-and-seek for grown-up children. [...] Above all, there is the sheer joy of witnessing something stunning and completely unique.
