DUOS
EMANUEL GAT DANCE (2017)
DUOS, created originally for Montpellier Danse 2017, is a series of site specific duets performed by different couples in different locations. Very flexible in terms of locations, length, and the overall structuring of the event, DUOS is an experimentation with live choreography. DUOS is a collaboration with painter and visual artist Yifat Gat. Each duet is hand painted and unique, according to the dancers performing and the location, adding a layer of visual and theatrical information. DUOS is a way of allowing choreographic work to spill out into the streets and public spaces. To release it from the boundaries of stage and theatrical time, and place it in the midst of the ongoing city life.

Dans un espace scénique, nous contrôlons, l’atmosphère, le son, la lumière ce qu’il n’est pas possible de faire une fois que nous sortons du théâtre. La chorégraphie prend vie dans un contexte qui est incontrôlable, qui va changer, nous surprendre, auquel nous pouvons réagir ou non. Je trouve cette problématique intéressante.
