YIFAT GAT

Yifat Gat, born in 1969 in Israel, is a painter, blogger and curator living in the South of France.

Gat studied Theater Design at the TLV University and Fine Arts at the Midrasha University. She received the Keren Sheret Award as well as the french SACD Multimedia Award in 2004. After moving to France in 2007, she received a studio from the village of Saint-Chamas in 2009 and has been working there ever since. In 2010 she started her curatorial blog LOOK&LISTEN that grew into a larger scale non-profit project in 2013.

Yifat Gat’s work aims to highlight the mechanisms that form it, rather than its appearances. Gat works mainly on canvas, papers and walls. Her work has been exhibited in France, New York City, Tel Aviv and numerous European venues in the UK, Sweden, Italy, Belgium etc.
