THÉÂTRE NATIONAL DE CHAILLOT

The Théâtre National de Chaillot (English: Chaillot National Theater) is a theatre located in the Palais de Chaillot at 1, place du Trocadero, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Close by the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadéro Gardens—the Théâtre de Chaillot is among the largest concert halls in Paris. It has long been synonymous with popular theatre and is especially associated with stars such as Jean Vilar and Antoine Vitez. In 1975 the French Ministry of Culture designated it as one of the four national theatres of Paris. In 2016 the theatre became Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse, a place dedicated to present international dance, theatre, circus and visual arts.

An exceptional venue in the capital, the theatre can welcome each night more than 1.600 spectators, in its three rooms (Salle Jean Vilar of 1 200 seats, Salle Firmin Gémier of 390 seats, Studio Maurice Béjart of 100 seats.

As a bonus, the public spaces of the theatre are also host to an important collection of sculptures, paintings, frescoes and pastels signed by the greatest artists of their time: Paul Belmondo, Louis Billotey, Pierre Bonnard, Maurice Brianchon, Roger Chapelain-Midy, Maurice Denis, Othon Friesz, Henri Laurens, Aristide Maillol as well as Édouard Vuillard.
