TANZPLATTFORM RHEIN-MAIN

Tanzplattform Rhein-Maine is a cooperation between Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt and the Hessische Staatsballet in Wiesbaden/Darmstadt.

Initiated in 2016, it is the very first time that an international production house and the dance department of two state theatres join forces to develop a wide range of production, performance and outreach formats. For this, they draw on the experience of Tanzlabor 21, which operated at Mousonturm from 2006 until 2015. In addition to artist residencies spanning several cities in the region, Tanzplattform Rhein-Main is also planning mobile dance productions to reach audiences in urban and rural areas beyond conventional theatre spaces, as well as Tanzfestival Rhein-Main, a joint international festival that brings together regionally produced pieces with performances by international guests.

The aim of Tanzplattform Rhein-Main and its cooperation partners is to empower dance makers and dance itself in the region, create a strong network for people and institutions working in the field of dance and excite new audiences for dance in the Rhine-Main region.
