JULIA GAT

Julia Gat is an Israeli photographer, based in the South of France. She currently studies for a BA (Hons) in Arts and Humanities at the Open University.

Growing up as an unschooler, she was quickly drawn into the art world and started taking photographs at the age of 13. Gat’s practice has been developed through intensive workshops and internships in photography and art spaces, either as a participant or organiser.

Julia’s work has been exhibited in France and New York City since 2012 and she has been featured on various platforms such as Ignant, Fisheye Magazine, The Eye of Photography and See Me. Her project SARA won the 1st prize in the festival Portrait(s) in 2016. 

She is also curating an ongoing project called FAMILY BUSINESS, presenting a range of international photographers with a focus an family documentation.
